Senior System Architect
About The Position
Sentrycs is developing and bringing to market a counter-drone solution designed to protect urban environments. Our platform automatically detects, tracks, takes over, and safely lands unauthorized commercial drones in a designated zone. The system is made of an operator server, field sensors and a handheld unit, built around a real-time RF pipeline on software-defined radios.
We are looking for a systems engineer to join the Sensor architecture team. You will turn open technical questions into measured answers. You will plan and run lab and field tests, find root causes across RF, hardware, Linux and our software, and turn the results into documents that Development, QA, Product and Customer Success act on.
In this role, you will:
- Write technical requirements for features. Coordinate across HW, QA, DSP, Product and outside vendors.
- Help close out features with Development and QA: review designs, review test plans, coverage matrices, known limitations and technical debt.
- Run lab and field tests on our sensors and handheld unit, and help design them: setup, controls, what to measure and how to prove the result.
- Investigate field and platform issues end to end – and separate measured facts from assumptions.
- Write up results: field test reports, short summaries for management, procedures for Customer Success and production, and technical packages for vendors.
Requirements
- 4+ years in systems integration, field engineering or embedded Linux, in industry or a military technology unit.
- Strong working knowledge in at least two of these three areas, and the will to learn the third:
- Hardware: lab work with electronics, power and cabling, reading datasheets, debugging peripherals such as USB and power delivery.
- RF: dB and dBm, gain, noise, filters, saturation and link budget. Hands-on with a signal generator or spectrum analyzer.
- Software: reading and debugging C++ or Python code, Linux services and Docker, logs, and messaging between components.
- Comfortable at the Linux command line (SSH, logs). Everyone in this role uses it daily.
- Python and bash for test automation and data analysis.
- Disciplined test design: reproducible setups, controls, and evidence someone else can check.
- Clear written English. You can explain a technical result to a developer, management and a vendor.
- Willingness to work in the field, outdoors, sometimes on long days.
- Good judgment about what you can decide and what needs to be escalated.
- Working with AI coding agents (Cursor, Claude Code or similar).
Nice to have:
- Hands-on experience with software-defined radios (Ettus/UHD or similar).
- Ability to read C++.
- Linux security hardening, OS imaging or production test stations
- QA background: test plans, coverage matrices
- Drones, counter-UAS or wireless communication products.
- Hebrew.
